Just In: 4 Five Star Recruits Commits To Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are still in the process of securing many top targets for the 2025 recruiting class, including four distinct five-star players who are expected to make selections this month.
However, they are also keeping an eye on 2026, and on Sunday, one of the class’s top players announced his visit to Austin.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, four-star Forney (TX) running back Javion Osborn will visit the 40 Acres on October 19th, when the Longhorns meet the Georgia Bulldogs.
“Texas is Texas,” Osborne told Wiltfong. “Honestly, every time I visit Austin, it feels almost like coming home.”
He also plans to head to Dallas for the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma on October 12.
Currently, Osborn is ranked as the No. 64 player in the nation, the No. 6 running back, and the No. 7 player in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, which aggregates rankings from major recruiting services.
However, On3 itself has Osborn ranked as the No. 23 player in the country and the No. 1 running back in the 2026 class.
Since his freshman year with Forney in 2022, Osborn has been among Texas’s top performers, rushing for 1,064 yards and eight touchdowns, and earning District 7-5A Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors that season.
In 2023, as a sophomore, he elevated his game significantly, rushing 390 times for 2,231 yards (7.69 yards per carry) and 39 touchdowns, while also catching 15 passes for 181 yards and two more touchdowns.
Clearly, this kind of production is precisely what the Longhorns are eager to add to their roster.
