Report: Current Phoenix Suns crucial key man announce retirement
Team USA star Kevin Durant showcased his formidable skills once again during the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, even a talent like KD is aware that his basketball career won’t last forever.
With 17 NBA seasons behind him, Durant has started contemplating retirement.
During his appearance on Sunday’s episode of “Raising Fame” on TV One, the four-time Olympic gold medalist openly discussed the possibility of stepping away from the game.
“As I get older and the league continues to get younger, I find myself thinking about retirement more,” Durant shared with hosts Sonya Curry and Lucille O’Neal. “I wonder, ‘Should I stop considering it? What is this?’ But it definitely crosses my mind.”

The only certainty Durant had was that retiring would be a “huge, huge transition” for him.
Even as he ages, Durant has shown no clear signs of slowing down. In his age-36 season, he maintained impressive averages of 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 52.3% from the field and 41.3% from three-point range.
Durant’s unique combination of shooting ability and size suggests he could keep playing for several more years.
How long Durant will continue his career remains uncertain, but he’s already started making moves off the court shortly after the Paris Olympics wrapped up.
