The Texas Longhorns have suffered a second season-ending injury to a running back, as true freshman Christian Clark tore his Achilles tendon during practice. Clark will require surgery and will miss the rest of the season. This injury follows the announcement that CJ Baxter will also undergo season-ending knee surgery.

With Texas ranked No. 4 in the preseason AP Top 25, the Longhorns will face Colorado State in their 2024 season opener on August 31. In the absence of Clark and Baxter, Texas will rely on Jaydon Blue, who has played in 23 games for the Longhorns and has rushed for 431 yards and three touchdowns.
