Breaking: Tennessee Volunteer Confirms Commits for Another Highly rated 5-Star over Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Auburn
Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class suffered a setback on Sunday when highly rated star announced he was flipping his commitment. The Rome, Ga. native has now decided to attend Tennessee instead of joining the Crimson Tide.
“I want to thank the entire Alabama staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play for a great program,” Harmon wrote in a social media post on Sunday. “Respect my Decision.”
Harmon, a four-star linebacker according to the 247Sports composite rankings, tagged Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and Volunteer linebackers coach William Inge in his post. Inge previously worked on Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Washington. The 247 composite currently ranks Harmon as the No. 18 linebacker nationally and the No. 155 player overall.
During his junior season in 2023, Harmon recorded 80 tackles, including eight for loss and five sacks. He had initially committed to Alabama in April and had visited Tuscaloosa since.
Harmon’s decommitment leaves Alabama with 19 current commits in the 2025 class, which will be DeBoer’s first full cycle as head coach of the Tide. Alabama’s group remains ranked No. 2 on the 247Sports composite, trailing only Ohio State.
Tennessee’s class is ranked No. 6, with LSU, Georgia, and Auburn between the Volunteers and the Crimson Tide.

Despite Harmon’s departure, Alabama still has several linebacker commitments in the 2025 class, including five-star Darrell “Duke” Johnson, four-star Dawson Merritt, and three-stars Abduall Sanders Jr. and Luke Metz.
