DONE: 5-star commit to Ohio State over Oregon State
Ohio State is in a tight battle to retain five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord, who is set to visit Oregon on October 12 when the Buckeyes play in Eugene. Offord, who is from Birmingham, Alabama, previously visited Oregon on June 14 and returned to Ohio State’s campus on June 21. He’s also visited Auburn and Alabama as he considers his options.
Offord, ranked No. 9 overall and No. 3 among cornerbacks in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports composite, is one of four five-star commitments for Ohio State, along with cornerback Devin Sanchez, quarterback Tavien St. Clair, and linebacker Riley Pettijohn.
Securing Offord’s commitment would be a significant win for the Buckeyes, who have 24 prospects in their class. Oregon, with 15 commitments, currently boasts the highest average player rating in the nation. The rivalry between Ohio State and Oregon is set to intensify both on the recruiting trail and on the field.
2026 running back down to final five schools
Five-star running back Savion Hiter, the top-ranked running back and No. 29 overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings, has included Ohio State in his final five schools. The Woodberry Forest standout is also considering Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, and Penn State.
Ohio State currently has one commitment in the 2026 class: wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., the No. 1 overall player in the cycle. If the Buckeyes can secure Hiter’s commitment, it would mark a major recruiting victory for new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn.
