Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood is enhancing one of the nation’s top offensive line units with the addition of Nick Brooks, who offers both impressive size and significant potential. Ranked as the No. 180 player and No. 14 tackle by the 247Sports Composite, Brooks attracted attention from across the country, receiving 32 scholarship offers from major conferences. Initially committed to Iowa as a junior, he reopened his recruitment just two months later, eventually narrowing his choices to Texas, USC, and Georgia, after visiting all three schools during the summer.
The Longhorns leveraged the timing of their final visit to change Brooks’ mind from his local favorites. Standing at 6’7″ and weighing 345 pounds, Brooks follows in the footsteps of other large recruits like Connor Stroh and Cam Williams who have already shown promise at Texas. However, Brooks may need more time to develop due to his size and a history of attending four different high schools in four years: one in Iowa, one in Georgia, back to Iowa for his junior year, and finally returning to Georgia for his senior year.
