BREAKING: 5-star WR confirms commits to Florida Gators
Florida continues to bolster its already strong 2025 wide receiver class. The Gators entered the recruiting cycle with a focus on enhancing their wide receiver corps, and they made another significant addition by securing a commitment from highly rated-star wide receiver from Miami (Fla.) Central. Montgomery chose Florida over several other finalists.
“There were a lot of factors that went into it, but the main one was how much they stayed in contact with not just me but also with my family. That was a big part of my recruiting,” He shared with Swamp247. “I wanted my coaches to check on my family and see how they were doing, and that’s exactly what Florida did.”
While several coaches on Florida’s staff built strong relationships with the 6-foot-1, 165-pound receiver, He was particularly impressed by the involvement of head coach Billy Napier.
“Sometimes you don’t always hear much from the head coach, but Coach Napier was very involved. He checked in on me every day,” He said. “Our conversations weren’t always about football. He would switch things up so that nothing was repetitive.”
With him on board, he becomes Florida’s third wide receiver commitment for the 2025 class, joining four-star Vernell Brown III and three-star Joshua Moore. He believes this trio has the potential to dominate in college football.
“I feel like us three on the same field, we will take over college football. I think we can all play as freshmen, and that’s our main goal. We’ve got a good quarterback in DJ Lagway to get us the ball,” he added.
With his commitment, the Gators now have 14 verbal commitments as August comes to a close. Alongside Montgomery, Florida’s 2025 class includes Orlando (Fla.) Riverside three-star tight end Tae’Shaun Gelsey, Madison (MS) Central three-star tight end Micah Jones, Fulshear (TX) Katy Jordan three-star running back Chad Gasper, Leesburg (GA) Lee County three-star defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud, Loganville (GA) Grayson three-star defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou, and Bridgton (ME) Academy three-star punter Hayden Craig.
