BREAKING: Five-star Texas WR target confirms commitment over LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes and Tennessee Volunteers
The Texas Longhorns wrapped up a big month of announcements with Friday’s decision from Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin wide receiver, who will reveal his commitment at 7:25 a.m. Central on the 247Sports YouTube channel. Texas is among the four finalists for the 6’1, 185-pound prospect, alongside LSU, Miami, and Tennessee.
Ffrench, a consensus five-star talent, was active in camps and unofficial visits two years ago. He initially committed to Alabama in July 2023 after a Junior Day and an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, but reopened his recruitment two days after Nick Saban retired.
Texas entered the race for Ffrench when wide receivers coach Chris Jackson extended an offer in January. Ffrench responded with multiple visits to Austin, including an official visit in June. Texas gained momentum over the summer and now appears to be the frontrunner, holding the last three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Jackson also secured a commitment from another consensus five-star wide receiver, Kaliq Lockett, from Sachse, Texas, earlier this month.
