NEW SIGNING: After Signing Malik Willis, Packers Set To Acquire $4 Million Pro Bowl QB

The Green Bay Packers recently addressed their backup quarterback situation by trading for Malik Willis from the Tennessee Titans, while waiving Michael Pratt and Sean Clifford. Although Clifford was later added back to the practice squad, the Packers are now entering the season with Jordan Love, Willis, and Clifford as their quarterback options.

On paper, Willis appears to be an upgrade over Pratt and Clifford, who both struggled significantly during the preseason. Willis showed noticeable improvement in his preseason outings with the Titans, but he has yet to prove himself as a reliable NFL quarterback in regular-season games. While he possesses considerable talent and potential, relying on him as the QB2 for a team with playoff aspirations is still a risky move.

This uncertainty has led some Packers fans to keep the door open for another quarterback addition. The recent surprise release of Tyler Huntley by the Cleveland Browns adds another layer to the situation. Huntley, with more experience and a more established track record, could be viewed as a safer and more dependable option than Willis, potentially offering more stability as the backup quarterback for the Packers.
