LONGHORNS NEWS: Star QB Signs New Multimillion Deal
Texas star quarterback recently partnered with Gold’s Gym, one of the world’s most renowned athletic clubs, as announced by Ashley Lennington of the Gold’s Gym media team. This collaboration comes as the Longhorns prepare for their first season in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and what could be Ewers’ final season in college football, as he is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
He led the Longhorns to their first Big-12 Championship since 2009 in 2023 and secured a spot in the College Football Playoff, although they were defeated by the Washington Huskies in the semifinals. His performance solidified his reputation as one of the nation’s top quarterbacks. In 2023, Ewers threw for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 70.7 percent of his passes.
The partnership between Ewers and Gold’s Gym emphasizes perseverance and hard work. Ewers, who transferred from Ohio State, shared his thoughts on this significant career decision:
“I have always admired Gold’s as a brand that stands for physical and mental strength with the legendary history to prove it. With this partnership, I am humbled to become part of the Gold’s legacy, and I hope to inspire others on their path to becoming stronger,” Ewers said.
He entered the 2023 season after dropping nearly 20 pounds, playing at around 200 pounds, and went on to have a stellar season that earned him a spot on the Second-Team All-Big 12.
His mental toughness was on full display when he led the Longhorns to a victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2023, throwing for 349 yards and three touchdowns. This win marked Alabama’s first non-conference home loss since 2007, highlighting Ewers’ ability to perform under pressure in a hostile environment.
Gold’s Gym Co-CEO Danny Waggoner expressed his excitement about signing Ewers ahead of his junior season:
“Quinn is gearing up for the most important year of his life on the gridiron with all eyes on him, and he is the epitome of the kind of strength that is at the heart of Gold’s mission. Through our partnership with Quinn, we want to show that Gold’s is here for those who want to become stronger, no matter where they are in their fitness journey,” Waggoner said.
While the specific terms of the partnership have not been disclosed, it is expected to last throughout the academic year. Ewers will also be featured in Gold’s Gym’s 60th anniversary social media campaign, aligning with the gym’s core values.
As Ewers and the Longhorns prepare to face Colorado State this Saturday, both physical and mental toughness will be crucial for the team as they aim to make a significant impact in the SEC.
