Florida Gators wide receiver was shot in the arm during an apparent robbery attempt in downtown San Francisco, according to multiple reports. NBC Bay Area reporter Gia Vang stated that Pearsall is in stable condition.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, is in police custody, as confirmed by the office of San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin.

According to Fox 40 sports reporter Kirsten Moran-Kellar, the suspect attempted to rob Pearsall for his Rolex watch while Pearsall was on his way to a signing ceremony in Union Square. A struggle over the gun reportedly ensued.

Both Pearsall and the suspect, who was also shot, are currently at San Francisco General Hospital, according to Moran-Kellar.

Pearsall, a 2024 NFL first-round draft pick, was selected 31st overall by the San Francisco 49ers. News of his condition quickly spread on social media, with 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel among the first to comment, posting on his personal “X” account, “He’s good. Thank god!!!!”

During his two years as a starter for the Gators, Pearsall recorded 1,626 receiving yards and nine touchdowns over the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His 65 receptions and 965 yards in 2023 were team-highs. However, Pearsall has been dealing with hamstring and shoulder injuries throughout his first training camp with the 49ers and did not participate in any of the team’s three preseason games due to these injuries.
