The Los Angeles Dodgers have faced a relentless wave of injuries this season, affecting key players such as Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Tony Gonsolin, Walker Buehler, River Ryan, and others.

Clayton Kershaw, who missed the early part of the season, also left his latest start due to a new injury. Manager Dave Roberts provided a troubling update, revealing that Kershaw exited Friday night’s game because of a recurring bone spur in his toe, which has caused intermittent issues over the years. Roberts added that the situation is concerning, with swelling and pain present, and the team is seeking further clarity.

Roberts mentioned that Kershaw has been managing this issue throughout the year, with some days being better than others. However, when it flares up as it did on Friday, they have to pull him to ensure the injury doesn’t impact his arm.

Another stint on the injured list is a possibility, and Roberts noted, “I’d be shocked if we don’t have to make a move or two tomorrow,” after being forced to deplete the bullpen following Kershaw’s early exit.

Kershaw threw just 27 pitches before leaving the game after allowing three runs and recording only three outs in the Dodgers’ 10-9 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers’ rotation has been hit hard by injuries this season, making it difficult to keep track of all the setbacks. However, with Yamamoto and Glasnow nearing their returns, the timing of Kershaw’s injury could have been worse.
