UNC Recruitment: Coach Hubert Davis Host 2 Key Recruiting Targets
It’s a significant weekend in Chapel Hill, with plenty happening for UNC sports. While the football team plays its home opener on Saturday, the basketball program, led by Hubert Davis, is hosting two key recruits.
First up is Derek Dixon, a four-star combo guard from Washington, D.C., ranked No. 58 overall in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports Composite. After missing out on five-star recruit Jasper Johnson, the Tar Heels have shifted their focus heavily to Dixon, with the coaching staff visiting him in-state this week.
The second major visitor is four-star forward Nik Khamenia from Studio City, California. Khamenia, a top-30 prospect in his class, has been climbing the rankings recently. UNC has been targeting players fitting the “stretch four” role, and Khamenia fits that profile. However, they face strong competition in landing his commitment.
As the fall recruiting period begins, Davis and his staff will have a busy few weeks, with multiple Class of 2025 targets visiting campus. Although UNC currently has no commitments for that class, the hope is that these visits will soon change that.
