REPORT: Seahawks add QB and WR from practice squad ahead of Patriots game
The Seattle Seahawks promoted rookie running back George Holani and second-year tackle McClendon Curtis from the practice squad for their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Seahawks Injury Report: Walker doubtful, two players out vs Patriots
Both players provide additional depth for Seattle at positions hit by injuries. Starting running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) and starting right tackle George Fant (knee) are listed as doubtful after being hurt in the Seahawks’ season-opening win over the Denver Broncos.
Holani, an undrafted rookie from Boise State, had an impressive preseason, competing with second-year back Kenny McIntosh for the No. 3 running back spot. During the preseason, Holani ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, caught three passes for 15 yards, and made two special teams tackles. He was waived during the final roster cuts but rejoined the team on the practice squad.
Curtis, who went undrafted in 2023 from Chattanooga, joined the Seahawks last year and spent most of the season on the active roster, appearing in two games on special teams. He was in contention for a roster spot during this year’s training camp and preseason but was waived before signing to the practice squad.
Walker left the game in the fourth quarter against the Broncos after rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
Fant, a nine-year veteran, sustained his injury in the first quarter of the Denver game. He was filling in for third-year player Abraham Lucas, who remains on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from knee surgery in January. Fant was replaced by third-string tackle Stone Forsythe, who made eight starts last season due to other injuries.
