BREAKING: Packers elite RB Breaks 26-Year-Old Franchise Record
The Green Bay Packers made headlines last offseason by signing former Las Vegas Raiders star running back to a four-year, $48 million contract. At the time, there were concerns about whether he could effectively fill the void left by Aaron Jones’ departure.
However, just two games into the 2024 NFL season, Jacobs appears to be thriving as Green Bay’s primary rushing threat. The team leaned heavily on his running abilities in their Week 2 home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
In fact, Jacobs has already shattered a Packers franchise record that had stood for nearly 30 years.
Josh Jacobs rushed for 151 yards on 32 carries against the Colts, bringing his total to 235 this season. That is the most in franchise history by a player in his first two games in a Green Bay uniform, surpassing the previous record set by RB Raymont Harris (158 yards in 1998).
Green Bay Packers might have the same approach with Josh Jacobs in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans
Josh Jacobs’ 32 carries in the Packers’ 16-10 victory over the Colts were largely the result of Malik Willis stepping in for the injured Jordan Love, who might miss another game in Week 3. The Packers are set to travel to Nashville this Sunday to take on the Tennessee Titans, and with Willis potentially starting again, Jacobs could see another heavy workload on the ground.
Jacobs is poised for another standout performance, especially considering Tennessee allowed 101 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries by the New York Jets in Week 2.
