The Boston Bruins made a notable addition on the first day of on-ice training camp by signing goaltender to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO). Kaskisuo, who had a solid stint with the Laval Rocket last season, posted a 7-4 record with a .909 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average in 13 appearances. The 30-year-old Finnish netminder has a wealth of experience, including two NHL games and 108 AHL games, where he’s accumulated a 53-36-13 record with a 2.68 GAA and a .909 save percentage. He’s also played in Sweden’s top league, the SHL, with Leksand IF, and earned AHL All-Star honors during the 2019-20 season.

Kaskisuo’s signing comes at a crucial time, with Bruins All-Star goaltender **Jeremy Swayman** still unsigned. While the Bruins hope to ink Swayman to a deal by the December 1 deadline, Kaskisuo adds much-needed depth in the goaltending position. He could serve as a backup to Joonas Korpisalo in the NHL or take on a role in the AHL, allowing flexibility for other goalies like Brandon Bussi or Michael DiPietro to step up if necessary.

Bruins GM **Don Sweeney** acknowledged the team’s ongoing efforts to sign Swayman but emphasized the value Kaskisuo brings with his experience.
