The Seattle Seahawks expanded their running back corps by signing a former Las Vegas Raiders rusher. The revelation comes as star running back Ken Walker continues to recover from an abdominal injury.

Walker has yet to practise heading into Week 3, and head coach Mike MacDonald would only say “we’ll see” if the playmaker can get repetitions later in the week. In addition, Seattle added wide receiver Miles Boykin to their roster on September 18, 2024.

Brown appeared in six games as a rookie for the Raiders, largely on special teams. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound running back played his first three college seasons at Duke. Brown went on to play his remaining two seasons at UCLA.

Brown had his greatest season in 2021, with 102 carries for 615 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. Brown also recorded 18 receptions for 129 yards.

New Seahawks Running Back Brittain Brown’s Strength is Physicality and Breaking Tackles.

Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh are expected to handle the running back duties in Kenneth Walker’s absence for the Seattle Seahawks. Brittain Brown, a former seventh-round pick by the Raiders in the 2022 NFL Draft, was noted for his physical running style by NFL analyst Lance Zierlein. While Zierlein praised Brown’s ability to break tackles, he expressed concerns about his lack of fluidity, quickness, and elusiveness, which could limit his effectiveness against NFL defenses. Additionally, Brown’s limited special teams experience and third-down value were seen as weaknesses heading into the draft.

The Seahawks Will Face Dolphins Backup QB Skylar Thompson in Week 3

Seattle waived veterans Marquise Blair and Quinton Bohanna to create place for Brown and Boykin. The Seahawks are hoping to improve to 3-0 with a victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Miami is struggling with its own injury difficulties after putting top quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve. Skylar Thompson is slated to start at quarterback against the Seahawks in Week 3. Despite the injury, the line is shifting slightly in the direction of the Fins.
