BREAKING: Canucks Confirms Another Major Goaltender Deal

Vancouver, B.C. โ€“ Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced that the team has signed goaltender to a one-year deal worth $875,000.

“Kevin is a seasoned NHL player who will strengthen our goaltending depth,” said Allvin. “He had a strong season in Nashville last year and possesses the size and skills we look for in a goaltender. We’re excited to bring him in to start working with our team.”

Lankinen, 29, played in 24 games for the Nashville Predators during the 2023-24 season, recording an 11-6-0 record, a 2.82 goals-against average, a .908 save percentage, and one shutout.

 

Standing 6โ€™2โ€ and weighing 190 lbs, Lankinen has played 112 regular season games in his career between Chicago and Nashville, with a 45-43-12 record, a 3.07 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage, and three shutouts.

Canucks sign goalie Kevin Lankinen to one-year contract

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Lankinen has represented his country multiple times, including leading Finland to a gold medal at the 2019 World Championship, where he posted a 7-1-0 record, a 1.50 goals-against average, a .942 save percentage, and two shutouts.

He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks on May 21, 2018.
