Report: Miami 5 Star QB Certain for Heisman Trophy
Cam Ward has used Miami’s relatively easy early schedule and the injury of a key rival to rise to the top of the Heisman Trophy race. In Miami’s 50-15 blowout win over South Florida, Ward passed for 404 yards and three touchdowns, adding to his dominant performances in prior wins against Florida, Florida A&M, and Ball State. Through four games, the senior quarterback has accumulated 1,439 passing yards and 14 touchdowns.
This has earned Ward the status of Heisman favorite with +450 odds at DraftKings, followed by Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss (+500), Alabama’s Jalen Milroe (+700), Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava, and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel (both +1000). Over at FanDuel, Ward is favored at +350, with Dart and Milroe close behind.
Oregon’s Gabriel, who started the season as a favorite, has slipped in the rankings following near upsets and has been surpassed by Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Ewers, however, dropped to seventh after missing a game due to an oblique injury.
