The Irish (4-1) have been steadily climbing back up the rankings following a home loss to Northern Illinois that dropped them from No. 5 to No. 18. With a bye week ahead, Notre Dame will face Stanford on Oct. 12. Meanwhile, Alabama reclaimed the No. 1 spot after a win over Georgia, and Indiana is ranked for the first time since 2021.
BIGGEST WINNER: BYU jumped five spots from 22 to 17 after defeating on the road at Baylor to improve to 5-0.
BIGGEST LOSER: Utah fell eight positions, from No. 10 to No. 18, after losing at home to unranked Arizona.
