Notre Dame has made a significant addition to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of quarterback  from Greenville (Ga.) High School. A talented dual-threat quarterback for the Patriots, he is being recruited by the Fighting Irish to play wide receiver. His recruitment has surged in recent months; initially committed to Georgia State, he switched to South Florida over the summer as interest from major programs began to rise after they reviewed his highlight reel. He has started the 2024 season strong, which has caught the attention of top programs like Notre Dame and Alabama, with Alabama being Notre Dame’s main competitor for his commitment.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound athlete visited Alabama for their home game against South Florida before heading to South Bend to watch Notre Dame defeat Miami (Ohio). The Irish coaching staff presented a compelling case for how he would fit into their offensive plans, clearly demonstrating their desire for more playmakers at the wide receiver position—something Richardson excels at. As a junior, he rushed for 801 yards with an impressive average of 11.6 yards per carry, including four games exceeding 100 yards, highlighted by a standout 274-yard performance against Marion County.

In just the first five games of the 2024 season, he has already amassed 571 rushing yards. He also contributed defensively as a junior, recording 54 tackles and four tackles for loss. His film showcases his remarkable speed, evidenced by a personal best track time of 10.68 seconds.

Richardson joins Notre Dame’s wide receiver class that features standout Elijah Burress from New Jersey and fellow Georgia player Jerome Bettis Jr. He has received a four-star rating on the Irish Breakdown board and is also ranked as a four-star prospect by On3, which currently lists him as the No. 292 overall player in the country.

While other recruiting services have been slower to update his status and still classify him as a three-star athlete, his highlight reel reflects a more impactful talent. Richardson has garnered offers from Notre Dame, Alabama, North Carolina, Mississippi State, UCF, Vanderbilt, Memphis, and Duke.
