BREAKING: Colts HC Confirms Major Decision on starting QB after Week 5 big game
Joe Flacco has stepped in as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts following Anthony Richardson’s injury and has led the team to two wins in two games. Despite this success, Colts coach Shane Steichen made it clear that Richardson remains the team’s starting quarterback once he recovers from his hip injury.
Steichen’s comments came after Flacco’s performance in a narrow 37-34 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he completed 33 of 44 passes for 359 yards, throwing three touchdowns without an interception. While Flacco’s performance has been impressive, Richardson’s potential and physical skills make him the franchise’s long-term solution.
Richardson missed the Week 5 matchup against Jacksonville but was reportedly close to returning and has a good chance of being cleared to play in the upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans.
