Trent Dilfer sends brutal honest message after Tulane loss
UAB’s football team finished 4-8 last season, and things have worsened this year. The Blazers fell to 1-4 in 2024 after a crushing 51-point loss over the weekend. The final score, 71-20, was misleading as two late touchdowns against backups made it seem closer, but it was really more like 71-6. Fans have turned against head coach Trent Dilfer, especially after a controversial incident last week where he insulted the university. As a result, the stands were empty during the recent game, and it’s becoming doubtful that Dilfer will keep his job for much longer. There’s increasing pressure for UAB to part ways with him soon.
In contrast, Bryant Vincent, who was hired as Louisiana-Monroe’s head coach in December, has been thriving. The Warhawks are off to a 4-1 start, their best since 1993. They recently defeated an undefeated James Madison team that had beaten North Carolina by 20 points just a week earlier.
To make it even sweeter, one of ULM’s four wins was against UAB. Vincent and the Warhawks scored 32 points. Dilfer and the Blazer mustered only a pair of first-half field goals.
Maybe it was a bad idea to pass over Bryant Vincent for Trent Dilfer?
