Matt LaFleur confirms major update on Luke Musgrave ahead of Cardinals game
The Green Bay Packers are 3-2 for the 2024 season. The Packers have had a difficult first five weeks of the season, but they have persevered.
On Sunday, they can expect some receiver reinforcements. While they received some good news about that position group, they are now expected to lose a young tight end for an extended period of time.
#Packers coach Matt LaFleur said that TE Luke Musgrave will be placed on injured reserve. He said the hope is that they would get Musgrave back at some point. He said they didn't know the extent of the injury because he had toughed it out until he couldn't go anymore.

Packers News: Luke Musgrave Will Land on Injured Reserve
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced that tight end Luke Musgrave will be placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. Musgrave participated in practice on Wednesday but was limited, and his condition worsened as he missed Thursday’s practice. The Oregon State alum has been managing this injury for a while; though he was active for Week 5, he didn’t play any snaps.
This is a tough break for the 24-year-old, who was expected to have a breakout season. Instead, Tucker Kraft has stepped up in Musgrave’s absence. So far in 2024, Musgrave has recorded five receptions on seven targets for 22 yards. There’s no clear timetable for his return, and LaFleur mentioned that the team is still assessing the severity of the injury.
To compensate, the Packers added another pass-catcher on Thursday to help fill the gap left by Musgrave’s absence.
