ROSTER MOVES: Eagles add Prominent TE to active roster
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed a former Cincinnati Bengals tight end on their practice squad.
On Thursday, the Eagles announced the return of veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah.
Uzomah, 31, was a fifth-round pick by the Bengals in 2015 and has enjoyed a successful career with the AFC North team. He was with the squad for seven seasons and had a breakout year in 2019 with 49 catches for 493 yards and five touchdowns (both career highs).
Uzomah joined with the Jets in 2022. He appeared in 15 games for the team in 2022, including 12 last season. Last year, he had an MCL injury and was placed on injured reserve.
The Eagles waived safety Caden Sterns to make place for Uzomah.

Philly signed Uzomah in April, but released him in August. Now they’re bringing him back.
The Eagles and Bengals face off in Week 8, which might make for an interesting revenge game if Uzomah is promoted to the active squad by then.
