CANES: Cam Ward will replace $160 million NFL Quarterback after 2025 NFL draft
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward has become a hot topic in college football and could soon capture attention in the NFL. As he climbs up the draft boards for the 2025 NFL Draft, he’s also in the running for the Heisman Trophy. Given his skill set, many NFL teams could benefit from adding Ward to their roster. So far this season, he has passed for 2,219 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions, completing over 69% of his throws. Additionally, he has rushed 28 times for 161 yards and 3 touchdowns. The New York Giants may be looking for a new quarterback soon, especially as they might regret signing Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract. Currently, Jones has a QBR of 51.2, ranking him 21st in the league. The Giants could potentially part ways with Jones this offseason, as his contract includes an exit option for 2025, though it would come with a $22.2 million dead cap penalty.
