The Cincinnati Bengals are attempting to crawl out of the hole they dug to begin the 2024 NFL season.

They defeated the New York Giants on the road last week, improving to 2-4, and now face the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.

As the squad continues to try to grow stronger, it will continue to address the state of the roster.

According to the Bengals’ official website, they recently added defensive end Raymond Johnson III to their practice squad.

Johnson, a fourth-year player from Georgia Southern, began his NFL career by signing with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. He played 15 games for them, registering four tackles and one sack. Afterward, he spent time with the Bengals, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Jacksonville Jaguars, but didn’t appear in any regular-season games with those teams.

Now, Johnson returns to the Bengals, replacing edge-rusher Isaiah Thomas, who recently signed with the Lions. Whether Johnson can make a meaningful impact this time around remains to be seen, especially given his journey as a young NFL player.

With the Bengals struggling early in the season, they’re looking for any solutions to get back on track. A win against their division rival, the Cleveland Browns, could spark a turnaround in their push for an AFC playoff spot.
