BREAKING: Five-star defensive lineman announced his commitment to Georgia choosing the Bulldogs over Miami and USC
Since returning to Athens, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has consistently secured top-five recruiting classes, built around elite five-star talent, particularly from the Peach State.
On Friday, the Bulldogs added another top prospect to their roster. Five-star defensive lineman from Savannah Christian Prep (Ga.) committed to Georgia, choosing them over Miami and USC. Griffin is the third five-star defensive prospect from Georgia to commit, joining EDGE Isaiah Gibson and linebacker Zayden Walker.
He is ranked as the No. 4 player overall in the 2025 class by 247Sports, holding the top spot for both defensive linemen and players from Georgia. This 2025 recruiting class is defense-heavy for the Bulldogs, and they aren’t finished yet.
Another in-state five-star prospect, Manchester (Ga.) defensive lineman Justus Terry, is trending towards Georgia. A former USC commit, Terry decommitted on June 19, just days after Gibson. Unlike Gibson, who quickly committed to Georgia, Terry has taken a more deliberate approach.

Terry has visited Georgia multiple times, but this weekend he will attend Georgia’s road game against No. 1 Texas in Austin, joining many other top recruits. If the Bulldogs secure commitments from both Griffin and Terry, they could boost their class into the top three for this recruiting cycle, with 23 commitments already on board.
