“I am grateful and humbled to announce my commitment,” Perkins wrote on Twitter/X to announce his commitment. Perkins recruitment to Iowa State moved incredibly quickly with the Cyclones offering the 6-foot-9 prospect a scholarship on Thursday and him announcing his commitment on Sunday evening. He commits to Iowa State over scholarship offers from Idaho, Eastern Washington and Montana. Boise State was also evaluating Perkins. The newest commitment gives Iowa State coach Matt Campbell three fall pledges. Earlier this season, Iowa State flipped Northern Illinois commits LaMarcus Hicks and Dyllan Malone. Hicks is a defensive back and Malone plays receiver, both are from Illinois. Perkins’ commitment to Iowa State also helps ISU fill the void Jack Shaffer left when he flipped his commitment from ISU to Washington early in the fall. Iowa State now has two offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class with Cedar Falls, Iowa, native Will Tomkins also committed to ISU. Perkins is the No. 15 prospect to commit to Iowa State in the 2025 recruiting class. The Cyclones have a top 60 national recruiting class, according to 247Sports rankings. Perkins commitment – along with a recent rankings update – helps Iowa State move to No. 12 in the Big 12’s class rankings. Iowa State’s average star ranking is 86.41.
