BREAKING: Penn State Players Face Backlash For ‘Embarrassing’ Behavior After Ohio State Loss
The No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions suffered their first defeat of the 2024 college football season on Saturday, losing 20-13 to the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes in a much-anticipated Big Ten rivalry clash at Beaver Stadium. Head coach James Franklin and the Nittany Lions continued their recent difficulties against their rival, Ohio State. Typically, Penn State players remain on the field for the postgame performance of the Alma Mater by the Penn State Blue Band, but this time, many opted to leave early, with a considerable number of players heading to the locker room as the band played.
This decision has sparked discontent among loyal Penn State fans. “I’ve supported the team through all the ups and downs for two decades, but this is ridiculous. Embarrassing performance and even more embarrassing behavior. Man up and own the loss,” one fan expressed.
Another added, “Zero push, got ran over. Completely outclassed. They should be embarrassed.” A third fan commented, “It’s easy to show good character when you win; true character is revealed in defeat.”
After taking a 10-7 lead in the first quarter, Drew Allar and the Penn State offense struggled significantly for the rest of the game. Following a scoreless second quarter, the Nittany Lions managed just a single field goal in the second half. “You’ve got to give Ohio State credit.
They did a really good job today. We did some things that were good enough to win and other things we did not. You can’t have the ball inside the five-yard line twice and come up with no points,” Franklin remarked in his postgame press conference.
Despite this setback, Penn State’s hopes for the College Football Playoff remain intact. The Nittany Lions will conclude their 2024 regular season with games against Washington, Purdue, Minnesota, and Maryland.
