BREAKING: Nick Saban went viral for savage message to Paul Skenes before LSU-Alabama clash
Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban took a playful jab at LSU alum Paul Skenes on Saturday as the two appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay” ahead of the Alabama-LSU matchup at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
When Skenes was asked for his prediction on the BYU-Utah “Holy War” game, he admitted he’d just learned the rivalry’s name while researching for his picks. Saban saw an opening and humorously teased the former LSU star.
Skenes: “I’m going with BYU. Like you said, it’s the ‘Holy War.’ I didn’t know it was called that until I did some research for these picks. I’ve got BYU.”
Saban: “Is this the first time you’ve done homework at LSU?”
Since stepping away from coaching to join the “College GameDay” crew, Nick Saban has shown a surprising knack for humor. Who would have thought the Alabama legend had such a sharp comedic side?
That said, Saban hasn’t lost his critical edge. Ahead of the Alabama-LSU game, he didn’t hesitate to share some pointed feedback about Jalen Milroe, showing he still knows when to be tough on players.
