Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in under 24 hours at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. This Sunday afternoon clash is one of the season’s most eagerly awaited matchups, as the two top teams in the AFC square off. Allen knows he’s in for a tough battle against Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones. “He’s a game wrecker, one of the best, if not the best, interior D-lineman in the game right now,” Allen remarked. “When you combine that with their defensive backs and linebackers flying all over, it’s a formidable unit. We’ll have our hands full and are focused on having a solid week of practice to get ready for Sunday.”

A Colts defensive player had a solid excuse for hitting Bills QB Josh Allen but the NFL punished him anyway

While Allen is preparing for Jones, another defensive lineman caught his attention last weekend. During a 30-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts, defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo tried to punch the ball out of Allen’s hands but instead made contact with Allen’s head.

The former Vanderbilt second-round pick repeatedly struck Allen in the torso and head until the play ended. Although Odeyingbo wasn’t penalized at the time, the NFL reviewed the footage and issued him a $10,919 fine, as reported by Bills beat writer Ryan Talbot. Punching the ball loose is common, but Odeyingbo may need a boxing class or two to improve his accuracy and avoid future fines.
