Georgia football hosted an impressive group of elite recruits during their 31-17 victory over Tennessee, including QB Ryan Montgomery, a cornerstone of the Bulldogs’ 2025 recruiting class since his commitment in mid-April.

Throughout the summer, it seemed Kirby Smart and his staff were fully focused on Montgomery as the sole quarterback in the class. However, recent developments suggest a shift in strategy. Georgia has extended offers to multiple QBs from the same class and even hosted two additional quarterbacks alongside Montgomery during the weekend. This unusual move—recruiting more than one QB for the same class—has sparked speculation about Montgomery’s reaction to the situation.

When asked how he felt about Georgia pursuing other quarterbacks, Montgomery addressed the matter directly.

“I understand it is a business,” Montgomery said via *DawgNation*. “I totally understand that and really don’t have any problem with it. I know it sucks, but I might miss spring ball, and they need an extra arm. They can bring in whoever they want. It is not going to affect me whatsoever. I know they just offered Jaron from Hawaii, and I actually talked to him a lot at the Elite 11.”

Montgomery’s mature perspective indicates his confidence in his standing with Georgia, even as the Bulldogs continue to explore options for their quarterback depth.

Montgomery not phased by recent developments

Ryan Montgomery seems unfazed by Kirby Smart and his staff’s decision to pursue another quarterback for Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class. In fact, he appears to fully understand the reasoning behind it.

Montgomery’s season-ending knee injury has sidelined him for much of his high school season and could prevent him from participating in spring ball at Georgia in the coming months. Acknowledging this, Montgomery recognizes that Smart and his team are considering another quarterback to address potential depth concerns stemming from his uncertain health status.

While it remains unclear whether Georgia will ultimately secure a second quarterback in the class, Montgomery’s commitment appears solid. His understanding of the situation and confidence in his place with the Bulldogs should reassure Georgia fans, regardless of how the recruiting class evolves.
