BREAKING: Alabama Football Confirms Flip of 4-Star Michigan Commit for 2025 Recruiting Class
Alabama football has successfully flipped a former Michigan commit, landing four-star defensive back Ivan Taylor.
Taylor announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Monday via social media, expressing his gratitude. “Excited to announce my commitment to the University of Alabama,” he wrote. “I’m thankful for the opportunity and eager to play for Coach DeBoer and his staff. Roll Tide!”
According to the 247Sports Composite, Taylor is ranked as the No. 7 safety and the No. 59 overall prospect in the 2025 class. Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 174 pounds, Taylor hails from Winter Garden, Florida. He is also the son of Ike Taylor, a former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback and two-time Super Bowl champion.
Taylor becomes Alabama’s 21st recruit in the 2025 class and is the fifth-highest-rated player in the group, trailing four five-star prospects: quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive linemen Michael Carroll and Ty Haywood, and cornerback Dijon Lee. Along with Lee and Chuck McDonald, Taylor is now one of three defensive backs in Alabama’s highly regarded recruiting class.
