REPORT: Buffalo Bills offensive line the unsung heroes in win over Kansas City Chiefs
BUFFALO, NY. (WKBW) — With Spencer Brown unavailable and facing a tough Kansas City defensive front, the Buffalo Bills’ offensive line seemed poised for a challenging night at Highmark Stadium on Sunday.
Instead, the unit turned in a standout performance during the Bills’ 30-21 victory over the Chiefs, allowing zero sacks and showcasing strong individual contributions that powered their collective success
One key player was guard O’Cyrus Torrence, who faced the formidable task of primarily blocking two-time All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones.
A detailed breakdown highlights Torrence’s impressive ability to neutralize Jones’ impact and limit his play-making opportunities.
Another standout performer was tackle Ryan Van Demark, who stepped in for the injured Spencer Brown and exceeded expectations in his first NFL start.
While fans might not have immediately noticed Van Demark’s impact, quarterback Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott certainly did.
“He works incredibly hard and cares so much about this game. It was awesome to see him step in and perform as well as he did. We threw him in there, and it felt like we didn’t miss a beat,” Allen said.
McDermott added, “Dealing with injuries can be beneficial in building experience and resilience. It’s good for players to develop that ‘I’ve been here before’ mentality.”
With the win, the Bills head into their bye week with a 9-2 record—their best start since 1992.
