REPORT: Steelers’ Offense Set to Get a Boost with Blocking Specialist TE’s Return
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers offense may receive a crucial boost with the return of tight end MyCole Pruitt. Pruitt missed Sunday’s game due to a knee injury, and while he was listed as “did not participate” in Monday’s estimated practice report, head coach Mike Tomlin expressed optimism about his potential return.
Pruitt initially suffered the knee injury in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos, leading to a four-game absence before he came back. The Steelers opted to rest him for the Ravens game, but after experiencing a flare-up, Pruitt did not practice last week as he focused on rehabbing the injury.
In Pruitt’s absence, the Steelers turned to Ben Skowronek to fill his role, with Skowronek also taking on duties as a fullback and H-back. Skowronek played 20 impactful snaps, contributing to the Steelers’ running game against the NFL’s top-ranked rushing defense.
