BREAKING: NC State Shocked as 5-Star Wide Receiver Flips Commitment to Big Ten Giant
NC State football head coach Dave Doeren and his staff received a verbal commitment from Santaluces Community High School (Fla.) senior wide receiver Jamar Browder in early June. However, when the 6-foot-4, 205-pound three-star visited Michigan in late September and announced an offer from the Wolverines, he intimated that his vow was not entirely unconditional.
Browder officially shifted his pledge to Michigan on Friday, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Browder is ranked No. 800 nationally, No. 120 among wide receivers, and No. 105 in Florida in the 247Sports 2025 Composite.
Aside from Forest Hills High School (N.C.) four-star Jerel Bolder, Browder was NC State’s top wide receiver commit in the 2025 class, holding the No. 10 spot among all of the Wolfpack’s pledges in this recruiting cycle.
With Browder flipping from NC State to Michigan, the Wolfpack’s class, now consisting of 18 commits, slipped three spots to No. 46 nationally and is ranked No. 10 in the ACC.
However, NC State could gain a new commitment following their home game on Saturday against Duke (6-3, 2-3 ACC). Over a dozen recruits, including several highly-rated high school seniors, will be at Carter-Finley Stadium to watch the Wolfpack (5-4, 2-3 ACC) in action.
