Unbelievable: Pittsburgh Steelers safety throws shade at Bills’ Josh Allen: ‘He’s a turnover magnet’
Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott is known for his candid remarks, and his recent appearance on Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey’s Punch Line Podcast lived up to his outspoken reputation. Elliott made waves with bold statements, calling his former team, the Miami Dolphins, “soft,” questioning the Baltimore Ravens’ pass defense, and taking a swipe at Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
While discussing the MVP race, Elliott dismissed Allen’s candidacy compared to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. He stated:
“Going for that third MVP, I mean behind Pat Mahomes, has to be him [Lamar Jackson]. Technically, I mean, nobody else is really doing it like him really. You can say Josh Allen here and there, but he’s a turnover magnet. I’m going to keep it a bean at all times.”
Elliott’s critique of Allen as a “turnover magnet” seems at odds with Allen’s current season. After early-career struggles with turnovers, Allen has significantly cleaned up his game, committing just seven turnovers this season while leading the Bills to a 9-2 record and contention for the AFC’s No. 1 seed. His efficiency and leadership have placed him firmly in the MVP conversation.
Meanwhile, Jackson’s case for MVP hit a snag last week when the Steelers’ defense, featuring Elliott, helped slow him down. With Allen and Mahomes continuing to shine, the MVP race remains tightly contested. Allen’s performance in Buffalo’s statement win over Kansas City last week has further bolstered his status as a strong contender for the award.
