Breaking: Five-star rated RB commits to NC State
BREAKING: Big-play Texas RB commits to NC State. Wolfpack lands Lone Star State running back .
NC State wanted to add another running back to its 2025 recruiting class and the coaching staff recently turned its focused on Columbus (Texas) playmaker Grayson Rigdon. The Wolfpack offered Rigdon last week, and by the weekend, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Rigdon was in Raleigh for an official visit. Shortly after returning home, Rigdon announced his commitment to NC State. “The offer means a lot,” said Rigdon last week. “The program is on the rise and great things are coming and I think I could be a huge piece to the puzzle. My interest level in NC State is very high.”. Pack running backs coach Todd Goebbel, who’s Rigdon’s lead recruiter, quickly built a strong rapport. “We have the same background being coach’s kids, so we immediately hit it off,” Rigdon said last week. “I also really just like how he coaches and what he’s told me so far.
He’s told me they would just want to get me the ball any way they could. “He’s told me he likes my athletic ability to play the position and my ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.”. In his first six games as a senior, Rigdon totaled 70 carries for 1,168 yards (16.7 yards per carry) with 20 touchdowns, while also catching 14 passes for 143 yards and three more touchdowns. Rigdon is also a big-time basketball player. As a junior, he averaged an impressive 45.1 points, eight rebounds, 4.2 assists, and six steals. He’s a three-star prospect and No. 87 running back in the country, according to 247Sports. Not a VIP subscriber to Pack Pride? Sign up now to get access to everything R.
