After his release, Rosenberg sent a message to the Angels on X, saying, “Just wanted to take a moment to thank the Angels organization for giving me my first try at the big leagues, and the Salt Lake Bees for being first class to me and my family for the past three years. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing folks. “Bye for now.”
The 29-year-old pitcher is set to join the KBO after spending three years with the Angels organization. Rosenberg’s career began with the Tampa Bay Rays, who selected him in the eighth round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He spent five years in the Rays’ minor league system before being picked by the Angels in the 2021 Rule 5 Draft.
Rosenberg started his Angels tenure with Triple-A Salt Lake, posting a 2-5 record with a 3.16 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 13 games during 2022. He earned his first MLB promotion that year, appearing in three games and recording a 4.22 ERA with eight strikeouts.
After being designated for assignment following the 2022 season, Rosenberg cleared waivers and was sent back to Salt Lake. In 2023, he went 7-7 over 20 Triple-A starts with a 4.95 ERA but also made seven major league appearances, including three starts, achieving a 2-2 record with a 3.82 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
Rosenberg began the 2024 season with Salt Lake, improving to a 9-7 record with a 4.21 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 21 starts. He also appeared in seven games for the Angels, going 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 17 strikeouts.
Now, Rosenberg is set to embark on a new chapter in his career, joining the KBO’s Heroes for his first stint in South Korea.
