As the 2025 recruiting cycle nears its conclusion, Georgia football and head coach Kirby Smart aim to secure their second consecutive No. 1 recruiting class, a position they currently hold according to 247Sports. However, maintaining that top spot will require significant effort.

One key area of focus for Smart and his staff has been the quarterback position. While four-star QB Ryan Montgomery remains committed to Georgia, it’s evident that Smart is looking to add another quarterback to the class.

One high-profile target was five-star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, who is currently committed to Cal. Sagapolutele originally planned to visit Georgia for the Tennessee game but postponed due to his high school playoff commitments, rescheduling for the Georgia Tech game this Friday.

Despite this, On3 has reported that Sagapolutele’s visit will no longer happen, as Georgia is no longer pursuing his recruitment.

Sagapolutele is no longer interested in Georgia

Missing out on Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele isn’t a huge setback for Georgia, as they still have four-star QB Ryan Montgomery firmly committed. That said, landing Sagapolutele would have been a significant boost to the Bulldogs’ already impressive recruiting class.

Georgia does, however, appear close to securing a second quarterback commit. The Bulldogs recently received a prediction to flip three-star QB Hezekiah Millender from Boise State. While Millender may not have the same ceiling as Sagapolutele, he would still be a valuable addition to the roster, providing depth and potential for development over time.

Although it seems unlikely Georgia will add a five-star QB to this year’s class, the Bulldogs remain focused on other elite prospects. With the recruiting cycle nearing its conclusion, the next few weeks promise to be eventful for Kirby Smart and his staff. Stay tuned for updates!
