“I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Angels organization for giving me my first crack at the big leagues and the Salt Lake Bees for being first class to me and my family for the past three years,” Rosenberg wrote in a letter to the Angels on X upon his release. I have had the good fortune to meet so many amazing people. For now, good-bye.
The 29-year-old pitcher is set to continue his career in the KBO after spending three years with the Los Angeles Angels organization. Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the eighth round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Rosenberg spent five seasons in their minor league system before being selected by the Angels in the 2021 Rule 5 Draft.
Rosenberg began his Angels tenure with Triple-A Salt Lake, where he pitched in 13 games during the 2022 season, posting a 2-5 record, a 3.16 ERA, and 62 strikeouts. Later that year, he made his MLB debut, appearing in three games with a 4.22 ERA and eight strikeouts.
After being designated for assignment following the 2022 season, Rosenberg cleared waivers and remained with Salt Lake. In 2023, he started 20 games for the Bees, recording a 7-7 record and a 4.95 ERA. He also made seven major league appearances, including three starts, finishing with a 2-2 record, a 3.82 ERA, and 29 strikeouts.
In 2024, Rosenberg returned to Triple-A, where he went 9-7 across 21 starts with a 4.21 ERA and 105 strikeouts. He also appeared in seven MLB games, recording a 6.00 ERA and 17 strikeouts.
Rosenberg now heads to South Korea to join the KBO’s Heroes, marking his first stint in the league.
