BREAKING: Georgia football receives bad news from No. 1 ranked RB
Kirby Smart will have one more chance to lure recruits to Athens for a game this year when Georgia football plays Georgia Tech at home in their final game of the season today. Additionally, one five-star running back has decided not to visit Georgia any more, despite the Bulldogs having a number of players scheduled to visit for the big game.
5-star RB Savion Hiter
Savion Hiter, a five-star running back and the top-ranked player in the 2026 class from Virginia, is making waves as one of the most sought-after prospects in the country. Ranked as the No. 14 overall player and the top running back in his class by 247Sports, Hiter has drawn significant interest from powerhouse programs like Georgia.
While Hiter had initially planned to visit Georgia for their matchup against Georgia Tech, Jeff Sentell of DawgNation reports that this visit has been canceled. However, this isn’t necessarily a major setback for the Bulldogs. Hiter recently visited Athens for Georgia’s win over UMass and expressed enthusiasm about his experience. Additionally, he isn’t visiting another school in place of this trip, suggesting Georgia remains high on his list.
Given that Hiter is part of the 2026 recruiting class, his decision-making process is still in the early stages, leaving plenty of time for Georgia to strengthen their relationship with him. Landing Hiter would be a significant boost to Georgia’s recruiting efforts as they look to secure top talent for the future.
