JUST IN: Trevor Lawrence Gets Crucial Injury Update Before Texans Game
The Houston Texans are in desperate need of not just a win on Sunday, but a convincing one. After building early-season momentum, injuries to key players have started to derail their progress.
Two weeks ago, the Texans appeared to turn things around with a significant victory over the Dallas Cowboys. However, their momentum stalled after a tough loss to the Tennessee Titans last week. Now, they face a Week 13 matchup against the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars, with a disappointing 2-9 record, have been without quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the former No. 1 overall pick, for some time due to a shoulder injury. However, Lawrence received a positive update on Friday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson announced that Lawrence is expected to return and play on Sunday against the Texans.
Houston will need to bring their best effort to overcome Lawrence’s return and get back on track in a must-win situation.
With or without Lawrence, the Texans should be able to defeat a Jaguars club with two wins. It would even be quite discouraging for them to lose. C.J. Stroud, the team’s second-year quarterback, leads the team, which is too good to lose a game like this.
With the injury news, Houston is only 3.5 points ahead. In order to maintain their dominance in the AFC South, they will undoubtedly need to win on Sunday.
