REPORT: Massive 6’7″ Wide Receiver Shocks College Football with Decommitment from Arizona State
A JUCO wide receiver prospect from the Arizona State Sun Devils, has been traded to Florida State football. Scott, who is 6′ 7″ and 215 pounds, is a three-star prospect from Southwest Mississippi Community College. On Thanksgiving, he posted a picture to X with the message, “FLIPSGIVING,” appropriately announcing his choice to change his commitment from ASU.
In December, Scott, who is in his second season at JUCO, will graduate. This season, he has caught 20 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns. Scott has four grabs of 30 yards or more, including a 62-yard reception, and averages 17.9 yards per catch. With a season-high six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown in a defeat to Jones College on October 24, he has two games with 100 yards or more.
There is a recent history between Florida State and Arizona State, particularly in relation to 6-foot-7 wide receivers.
With this commitment, Scott would become the sixth-foot-seven pass-catcher to be associated with the Sun Devils’ program, joining former FSU wide receiver Johnny Wilson, who is currently with the Philadelphia Eagles. When Wilson and Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels were in Tempe, Arizona, they played together.
Additionally, Kenny Dillingham, the former offensive coordinator of Florida State, is currently Arizona State’s head coach. With a victory versus Arizona and a victory in the Big 12 Championship Game, he and his team might secure a berth in the College Football Playoffs. They are presently leading the Big 12 standings (6-2, 9-2 overall).
