BREAKING: 5 Star CB Flips from Georgia Bulldogs to Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are reportedly among five programs expected to compete for Georgia Bulldogs redshirt sophomore cornerback as he prepares to enter the NCAA transfer portal next week. Other schools in the mix include Alabama, Miami, Oregon, and Texas A&M.
The 6’1, 195-pound Humphrey was a highly touted recruit in the 2022 class, ranked as the No. 81 overall player and the No. 8 cornerback nationally by the 247Sports Composite. He currently sits as the No. 6 prospect in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings.
After redshirting in 2022 and serving as a backup in 2023, Humphrey entered the 2024 season with high expectations for a breakout campaign. However, he lost his starting job to sophomore Daniel Harris, significantly reducing his playing time late in the year. Humphrey managed 10 tackles and four pass breakups on the season but played limited snaps in Georgia’s final games, including six against Tennessee and none in the overtime win over Georgia Tech.
For Texas, adding an experienced cornerback like Humphrey could be a priority with starter Jahdae Barron and key reserve Gavin Holmes both exhausting their eligibility after the 2024 season.
