BREAKING: Four-star DT flips from Auburn to Michigan
Auburn suffered a significant setback to its 2025 recruiting class when a key defender, Marshall, decommitted late in the cycle. This marks a blow to a class that previously boasted more ESPN 300 defensive commitments (12) than any other program. Despite this loss, Auburn, in Hugh Freeze’s third season, still heads into the early signing period with the nation’s fourth-ranked recruiting class.
Marshall’s decommitment is a big gain for Michigan, giving the Wolverines their ninth ESPN 300 commitment for 2025 and fifth since November 1. Michigan’s class is led by No. 1 overall prospect and five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, who flipped to the Wolverines on November 21 after being committed to LSU for nearly a year. Other recent top recruits include offensive tackle Andrew Babalola (No. 27), cornerback Shamari Earls (No. 71), and safety Jordan Young (No. 107), who flipped from Clemson.
Michigan enters the early signing period ranked 10th in ESPN’s latest 2025 class rankings. Key targets remaining for the Wolverines include five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood (No. 18), an Alabama pledge who is not expected to sign early, and four-star defenders Javion Hilson (No. 77) and Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (No. 81).
