REPORT: MLB Shocker! Dodgers Eyeing Two Superstar Free Agents
At the moment, MLB is talking about the Los Angeles Dodgers. Considering the cost of acquiring top players, their ability to attract and integrate them into their squad is astounding. Ace was recently welcomed. In the same offseason last year, Blake Snell was joined by Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Teoscar Hernandez, and Shohei Ohtani.
The Dodgers are not done adding talent to their roster
The Dodgers are not done adding, even after they signed Snell. Conversely, it’s possible that LA is just getting started. They are seen as the favorites to sign Japanese sensation Roki Sasaki and are one of the teams interested in Juan Soto.
However, MLB expert Jon Heyman believes that it would be disastrous for baseball if the Dodgers were able to sign both:
“If the Dodgers do sign (Roki) Sasaki, the rich get filthy. While Sasaki going to the Dodgers would be disappointing, Soto signing up to join that all-star roster would border on devastating”, the insider wrote.
The Dodgers want to be a dynasty
To be clear, the Dodgers would not be acting in a way that is not permitted by the rules of the game. Although supporters of other teams may feel resentful, they are not breaking any MLB rules because they are acting within the league’s bounds.
If the Dodgers manage to sign both stars, their lineup would become so stacked and formidable that competing against them would be nearly impossible. Fans—and clearly writers as well—share the sentiment.
Should LA secure Sasaki (expected to be posted soon), their rotation could feature Ohtani, Yamamoto, Snell, Glasnow, and Sasaki—a group so dominant it would rival the greatest pitching staffs ever assembled.
Adding Soto to the mix would solidify the Dodgers as dynasty favorites. While they’re reportedly trailing in the race for him, they remain contenders. Facing a lineup that includes Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Soto back-to-back would be a nightmare for opposing teams. As the Dodgers push to build a dynasty, the rest of the league is left stewing with frustration.
