JUST IN: Georgia Bulldogs set to flip 4 star rated DL as early signing period begins
Georgia football and the rest of the college football world has made it to national signing day. The early signing period begins on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and many of the top recruits committed to Georgia will be signing and making their commitment official.
There are also many uncommitted players out there that Georgia still has a great chance to land, as well as some players that are committed to other programs. And the recruitment that is the most intriguing is from a four-star player currently committed to Florida State.
4-star DL Kevin Wynn
Kevin Wynn, a highly-touted four-star defensive lineman from Greensboro, Georgia, is ranked as the No. 98 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He also stands as the No. 14 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 13 overall player in Georgia.
Although Wynn has been committed to Florida State since June, his commitment appears uncertain as the early signing period approaches. Both Georgia and South Carolina are heavily pursuing Wynn, but South Carolina currently holds the edge. The Gamecocks have received four crystal ball predictions indicating they are likely to flip Wynn from Florida State.
For Georgia, the outlook seems less optimistic despite their continued efforts under head coach Kirby Smart. While there’s always a slim chance for a late change, South Carolina has emerged as the frontrunner.
Even if Georgia falls short in this recruitment, there’s little reason for concern. The Bulldogs still boast the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, with strong potential to maintain that position through the end of the cycle.
