Breaking: 4-Star rated FAU WR commit flips to NC State

Atlantic High School (Fla.) wide receiver flipped his commitment from Florida Atlantic to NC State on Friday morning. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound three-star senior made it official by signing his scholarship agreement with the Wolfpack.

Hoffmann became the second wide receiver to join NC State’s 2025 recruiting class under head coach Dave Doeren. He is ranked No. 1,353 overall, No. 182 among wide receivers, and No. 183 in Florida according to the 247Sports 2025 Composite.

During his high school career, Hoffmann recorded 162 receptions for 2,728 yards and 49 touchdowns, including 69 catches for 1,179 yards and 23 scores in his senior season.

NC State extended an offer in mid-November, and Hoffmann visited the campus on an official trip two weeks ago. Despite also receiving offers from Florida State and Boston College, he remained verbally committed to Florida Atlantic until announcing his flip at Friday’s signing ceremony.

There are currently 18 signees from the 2025 NC State football recruiting class, including two composite four-star prospects, and three three-star promises who have not yet signed. According to 247Sports, the Wolfpack class is presently ranked No. 9 in the ACC and No. 41 overall in the nation.
